Casua and Stockholm are competing in a joint effort for a new office building located in central Prague.

The competition is an exciting project requiring progressive design coupled with innovative environmental technologies and great respect to UNESCO's classification of Prague's central district a World Heritage Site.

Marievik 15, witch lies in the district of Liljeholmen, has taken the first step to become a more compact city with focus on establishing good connections to the surrounding neighborhoods. Residences are being built on developed land in a former port and industrial area and attractive office buildings are created.

The overall aim of the conference is to discuss how we can tackle some of the sustainability issues of urban development and how the Stockholm experiences can contribute to this end. The focus will be on the holistic and cooperative approach to planning and realization of medium to large scale city development projects that has been a key to the success of projects. We will emphasize on issues such as: Urban planning , Energy efficient and sustainable building, Retrofitting of aging buildings and neighborhoods, Energy supply systems, Water supply, sewage and waste disposal.

October 19: a plenary session with Swedish as well as International speakers, a reception in Stockholm's beautiful City Hall hosted by the City.

October 20: several study tours with various themes to suit all delegates will be arranged. Equator will host a tour to Liljeholmstorget, the firs shopping center in Europe awarded the highest level of LEED certification, platinum.

With international as well as local attendees such as politicians and staff from international cities, developers, planners, consultants and contractors we are looking forward to two interesting days in Stockholm.

During some hectic days at Mipim you could meet representatives from Equator Stockholm and Equator European Architects. For the 5^th time we also launched the new Living in Europe, this time with a sustainability theme. In the book you can read about Stockholm Green Capital 2010 as well as Gunnar Söderholm, head of the Environmental and Health Administration for the city of Stockholm, and Magnus Andersson, Project Manager Invest in Järva, and their thoughts about the Green Capital Award and challenges for the future.
